We don't believe any person in our community deserves to feel hungry or alone. At Baking a Difference, our volunteer team is in the kitchen turning simple flour and sugar into fresh treats for Monterey County citizens in need.

Consistency is our Mission
Shelters don't just need food once a month; they need a reliable source of nutrition. We partner with Monterey County Food Bank to provide handmade goods that remind people they haven't been forgotten. It’s a simple rhythm: We bake, we deliver, and we show up again next week spreading love to our neighbors.

Why it Matters
In Monterey County, 2,436 of our neighbors experienced homelessness on a single night in 2024 — and 81% of them were residents here before they lost their housing. These aren't strangers. They're people from our streets, our schools, our community.
At the same time, 2 in 5 county residents face food insecurity. In a place that feeds the entire country — the Salad Bowl of the World — too many of our own neighbors go to bed hungry.
A handmade loaf of bread or a warm muffin won't solve everything. But it says something important: you haven't been forgotten.
